For years, I’ve loved sketching with the traditional ‘pen-and-ink method’, capturing my thoughts on paper. But now, there is this exciting shift in that journey—I’ve taken my sketches digital!
The idea came about when I was exploring ways to digitize my sketches for better preservation and sharing. I thought, why not try digital art altogether? Using a tablet and stylus, I began experimenting with recreating some of my sketches and now, I am absolutely loving the process.
Digital tools does offer incredible flexibility and endless possibilities for adding detail and help experimenting with compositions. While the tactile joy of pen on paper will always hold a special place in my heart, this new approach has opened doors to creativity I hadn’t explored before. If you’ve ever been curious about digital art, I can confidently say it’s worth trying. It’s not about replacing traditional methods but it's about expanding our creative repertoire.
To begin with, I’m sharing an abstract nature-inspired digital sketch. This drawing, composed of intertwined leaves and patterns, reflects my love for textures found in nature. The stark contrast of black and white accentuating every line and shape, captures a jungle’s essence, distilled into a single frame.
This year, I'm planning to digitalize and share many of my sketches along with a tiny story connected to it. Stay tuned for more updates as I continue this adventure into the digital world and storytelling.
What makes this shift even more special is the storytelling aspect that I am planning. Art is a bridge between sketches and narratives. Art allows us to weave stories into them effortlessly.
I think for me, the journey from ink to pixel feels like an evolution—one where I embrace tradition while boldly stepping into new territories.
