Hello everyone, how are you doing?
Life has been hectic for a while for me now. But today, I took some time out with my son to do something we both enjoy - butterfly watching. A moment away from the distractions of everyday life, embracing the joy of little things.
It's almost a ritual now. Sometimes, every once in a while, my 8-year-old and I, when we are getting back home, we take breaks to sit and observe the butterflies up close. Watch as they flitted around us. Noticing their interaction with the flowers, delicately sipping away the nectar. It's fascinating to see how nature has crafted such intricate and complementary relationships between these creatures and their environment.
And I... I love watching him.
He’d be so excited every time, constantly telling me to click as many pictures of the butterflies every time he spotted one. And as we halt near this flowery patch in the garden, to watch every fluttering butterfly visiting the flowers and taking pictures, I cannot help but feel a sense of magic in that moment, and appreciate the simple things in life. I find these quiet moments of observation and reflection fascinating and incredibly peaceful. It reminds me to slow down.
Catching a glimpse of the joy and happiness in his eyes is a treasure by itself that I cherish. Spending quality time with my little one never gets old!
It is truly amazing to witness the exquisite simplicity of nature that surround us. I'm overwhelmed to see how nature never ceases to illuminate the mood of a moment. Being in nature has a way of reminding us what's truly important.
It's easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of life, but when we immerse ourselves in nature, we're reminded of the beauty and the simplicity, teaching us to appreciate the world around us. Being in nature is also an incredible source of inspiration. From artists to writers, nature has been a muse for many people throughout history. The colours, the textures, and the patterns found in nature are simply captivating and inspiring. And haven’t they been the inspiration behind some of the most beautiful works of art and literature?
Devouring the works by Charles Dickens, Emily Bronte and William Wordsworth, to simply name a few, or even J.R.R Tolkien, it is clear how much nature has persuaded their writing. One can feel the influence of nature in their works as they describe the moors, gardens, and landscapes with such vivid detail. The way they use metaphors and personification to bring nature to life on the pages of their books is simply mesmerizing. As John Muir once said, "In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks."
Nature is a gift that keeps on giving. It offers us beauty, peace, inspiration, and joy all at once, feeling a little bit more connected to the magic of life. It's a treasure that we should cherish and protect for generations to come.
What a lovely time. I remember those small moments as well and how they were as magical for me as they were for my kids.
